This workshop opens the dialogue about the role architecture can play in the transformation of cities, from linear models to circular models, with a view to sustainability. Through a visit to the first up farm, at Parque Hortícola Aquilino Ribeiro Machado, in Alvalade, Parto Atelier proposes not only to explore the role of architecture in this context, but also to promote the debate on the potential of vertical horticulture to promote food self-sustainability.
Using pedagogical tools, we intend to bring the production process closer to consumers, aiming at community self-organisation and socioeconomically sustainable models. We invite participants to get involved practically in the various stages of production, from preparing the substrate to harvesting and making a Zero Km salad!
