Before the Election We Are Absolute, Then Destitute

Global capitalism produces an informal fabric that constitutes a mode of urbanisation that requires the understanding of the populations’ way of life, instead of applying hegemonic models previously conceived and imported from other geographies. In Cape Verde, Iniciativa Outros Bairros have started the regeneration of Alto de Bomba, based on the daily life of the local population, through the construction and activation of public space, starting with listening to reflect on alternatives to public policies that acknowledge the informal as a form of urbanisation.
